Team Battle FAQ

How are Team Battles different from Arenas as a single player?

You will only be paired with players from other teams, you will not play with anyone from your own team.

How is a Team score in a Team Battle arena calculated?

Just like in single player Arenas.

How do the tiebreaks work in Team Battles / what if there are two or more teams with the same amount of team points?

If there are two or more teams with the same amount of team points, the higher average performance of the team leaders counts.
Example: if there are 20 team leaders for the Team Battle, then the higher average performance of those 20 team leaders will count. If the average performance of Team 1 with 105 team points is "1980", while the average performance of Team 2 with 105 team points is "1850", then Team 1 has the higher average performance and is therefore ranked higher in the team battle result.
Note: Lichess always counts only all performances of a team and gives out the average as "Average performance", not the "Team leader performance". You may need to calculate the "Team leader performance" by yourself manually.
